Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.
Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

What you bring:
- Delivery of training elements and modules as per the Project’s HSE Training Management Plan
- Developing, maintaining, and updating training materials
- Ensuring competency for project personnel working in prescribed occupations and / or operating prescribed occupation plant and high-risk activities
- Assist in maintaining the HSE training Matrix as part of a wider training matrix
- Providing all training records to the Workforce Services training department who shall maintain the single point data retention of personnel qualifications
- Verifying/assessing subcontractor conformance to training plan(s)
- Reporting conformance to the HSE Training Management Plan on a monthly basis
- Participating in review of corrective actions to help ascertain where training would help minimise reoccurrence or repetition of non-conformance or incidents
- Assist with the coordinating the training schedule
- Coordinating with the Workforce Services Manager to engage Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) for HSE training requirements
- Support of the day-to-day activities of the elected RTO’s who are providing HSE training
- Support development of training materials and presentations.
- Support all aspects of the Project Hazard School whereby training participants gain a thorough understanding of the need to anticipate and recognise hazards, the risks of exposure and strategies for self-awareness
- Strong knowledge of Western Australia Workplace Health and Safety laws and regulations and industry standards
- Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and One Drive tools
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
- Any other duties as assigned by the HSE Training Lead / HSE Manager
About you:
- Degree or Graduate Diploma in Safety and Health or Hazard Management is preferred
- Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (TAE40116)
- Experience in development, presentation, and assessment of HSE education and training plans/packages on large construction projects required
- Experience and qualification/certification regarding Train the Trainer preferred
- Must have right to work in Australia without sponsorship
- Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
- Emergency response qualifications, i.e., confined space, vertical rescue and fire
- Why Tree, ICAM or Taproot certificate
Additional Information
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
